Awareness Technologies Now Enables Monitoring Of Emails On BlackBerry Smartphone Devices For Employers

InterGuard software expanded to BlackBerry

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 20, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Awareness Technologies, the only provider of Complete Insider Threat Security On-Demand, today announced that it has expanded its software product - InterGuard - to monitor all emails sent to and from BlackBerry devices, enabling employers to prevent sensitive information from leaking accidentally or maliciously and ensure employee productivity.

"There are over 50 million BlackBerry subscribers worldwide, many of whom use their devices for work. InterGuard is the only application that allows enterprises to monitor all employee activity on work-related computers and smartphones remotely through one interface," said Brad Miller, CEO and Chairman of Awareness Technologies. "We're currently developing this feature for Android and iPhone devices and expect to release those versions in 2011."

With this new feature, employers are able to remotely view the exact contents of every email and SMS text message that is sent or received by employees, as well as see who the messages were sent to and from. The software is easy to install and employers are able to see all text messages and emails sent and received on the phone they are monitoring immediately. InterGuard also monitors all activity on desktop and laptop computers including email, instant messaging, social networking activity and website visits.

Employee monitoring software solutions like InterGuard are mission-critical for companies in regulated industries such as financial services, where they need to comply with regulations such as FINRA to monitor and track all employee electronic communications.

"While most compliance-oriented businesses have a handle of monitoring emails on desktop computers, the accelerating use of smartphones requires tools such as InterGuard to remotely monitor all employee communications on mobile devices," added Miller.

Awareness Technologies' InterGuard software is used by corporations to defend their businesses from all insider threats. Deployed at the endpoint, users can access four technologies including data leak prevention (DLP), Web Filtering, Employee Monitoring and Laptop Recovery.

Additionally, over 10,000 businesses world-wide depend on Awareness Technologies' InterGuard solution to protect their data from insider threats. Awareness Technologies was named on Deloitte's 2010 Technology Fast 500 and the 2010 Software 500 ranking.
