PRESS RELEASE

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Asurion, the global leader in technology protection services, today launches ProtectToWin, a 90-day contest designed to introduce the company's mobile protection application to a wider audience of Sprint Total Equipment Protection (TEP) customers, each of whom is eligible to download the TEP app for free. With every registration of the Asurion app, customers are automatically entered into a drawing for one of 10 daily $10 online gift cards; and at the end of the 90-day contest period, one grand prize winner will receive a check for $10,000.

For those Sprint customers who already have the TEP app, Asurion is encouraging them to submit an app rating. Every time a rating is made through the ProtectToWin homepage, Asurion will make a donation - up to a total donation of $10,000 - to the Sprint-backed DoSomething.org non-profit. DoSomething.org is one of the largest organizations in the US that helps young people support causes they care about. Since 2008, Sprint, through the Sprint Foundation, has provided $500,000 in support to Do Something Inc. Consumers can track Asurion's increasing donation amount by checking the counter that resides on the ProtectToWin.com contest page.

"Hundreds-of-thousands of Sprint Total Equipment Protection subscribers are already benefiting from Asurion mobile phone insurance and the Asurion mobile protection app," said Bettie Colombo, spokesperson for Asurion. "We want others to see for themselves how valuable the application can be. Available exclusively to Sprint TEP customers as a free download, the TEP app allows users to quickly locate a misplaced phone and protect their data in the event of phone loss or theft. The ProtectToWin contest will help get the word out and encourage customers to add this extra layer of protection."

"Our collaboration with Asurion has grown from providing phone replacements to protecting our customers' privacy and data security through the TEP app," said Paula Cornwall, Director of Service and Repair, Sprint. "We want to ensure all Sprint TEP customers are aware of the TEP app and the locate, lock and restore functionality that is freely available for download. The ProtectToWin contest is an excellent vehicle for more quickly educating a greater number of customers, and for lending additional support to an effort Sprint cares very much about, DoSomething.org. I encourage Sprint TEP customers to visit ProtectToWin, and ask everyone else to check-out DoSomething.org, where every week there is a new opportunity for young people to get involved in a variety of important social causes."

Sprint customers worried about misplacing their phone can get peace of mind with the TEP app. The app allows customers to locate their phone on a web-based map and to trigger an alarm, even if the volume is turned off, so they can find their phone faster. If the phone is lost or stolen, customers can lock the device remotely so that private information can't be accessed. And if the phone is unrecoverable, the app can erase the contacts, and transfer them to a replacement device.
