Swine Flu's making headlines and making people nervous, which is leading people to look for swineflu information on the Web. No surprise that the cybercrooks are setting up swine flu scam addresses and sites. As the attention and concern over the spread of swine flu and its pandemic potential grows, so does the level of swineflu scam urls being set up to prey upon public concern.

Security company Sonic Wall reports that dozens of urls have been grabbed, including:

360swineflu.com avertswineflu.com avoidswineflu.com avoidswineflu.net beatswineflu.com bestswinefluprotection.com cureswineflu.com eswineflu.com fightswineflu.com fightswineflu.info fightswineflu.us flu-swine.com fluswine.com h1n1-swine-flu.com h1n1-swine-flu.info h1n1-swine-flu.net h1n1-swineflu.com h1n1swineflu.net humanswineinfluenza.com keithsswineflu.com mexican-swineflu.com mexican-swineflu.info mexican-swineflu.net mexicanswineflu.biz mexicanswineflu.info mexicanswineflu.net mexicanswineflu.us mexicoswineflupandemic.com mswineflu.com noswineflu.net noswinefluenow.com noswineflunow.com pandemicswineflu.net pandemicswineflu.org pandemicswineflu.us prepareforswineflu.com preventionofswineflu.com preventswineflu.com preventswineflu.org protectyourselffromswineflu.com surviveswineflu.com swine--flu.com swine--flu.info swine--flu.net swine--flu.org swine--flu.us swine-flu-1.org swine-flu-cure.com swine-flu-drug.com swine-flu-epidemic.com swine-flu-epidemic.info swine-flu-epidemic.org

And those are just some of them. Even a partial list and a quick glance shows that the crooks are playing all the search-term bases, eager to spread their infections to a nervous public eager to avoid getting infected.

Look for a dramatic increase in swine flu spam and phony meds scams -- and warn your people to be on the lookout for it too.

Good opportunity to remind all of you employees that headlines prompt scamlines: If they're looking for information about the flu, they should visit reputable news sites or agencies such as the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention.
