Lifespan Taps Vericept

Lifespan has selected The Vericept 360 degrees Risk Management Platform to protect sensitive patient health information and organization data

DENVER -- Vericept Corporation, the leading provider of comprehensive compliance and content control solutions, today announced that Lifespan, Rhode Island’s first Health System, the second largest health network in the state, has selected The Vericept 360° Risk Management Platform to protect sensitive patient health information and organization data, ensure compliance regulations and enforce corporate acceptable use policies.

Maintaining and protecting confidential patient health information was a top priority for Lifespan and with recent government regulations such as HIPAA, they required a solution that would guard sensitive data while also enforcing compliance regulations and acceptable use policies.

“Being the largest health network in Rhode Island, it is our responsibility to guarantee that the personal information of every patient in our system is protected,” said David Hemendinger, CTO of Lifespan. “With the integration of The Vericept 360° Risk Management Platform, our patient and organization data sources are now more protected from the possibility of a security breach inside our Health System. Securing our internal data and mitigating potential breaches is imperative to maintaining patient trust and meeting our responsibility as a health system.”

The Vericept 360° Risk Management Platform is the only content monitoring and filtering solution that enables corporations and organizations to gain complete visibility into all insider risk and controls violations before they occur. With 360° visibility across the entire network, Vericept passively analyzes data-in-motion and data-at-rest to help identify and control potential compliance violations, intellectual property theft, customer data loss, insider hacker activity, Internet abuse and other insider risk.

“We are extremely pleased that a renowned organization like Lifespan has selected Vericept to protect sensitive data, maintain compliance and gain complete visibility and control into the activities taking place on their network,” said Joe Cortale, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Vericept Corporation. “We are committed to providing our customers with the most robust and effective content monitoring and control solutions on the market today and recognize that now more than ever, organizations are committed to protecting their most valuable assets which is their internal data.”
