NeoAccel announced that Alcatel-Lucent has deployed NeoAccel's SSL VPN-Plus solution
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- NeoAccel, developer of third-generation VPN solutions, today announced that Alcatel-Lucent has deployed NeoAccel’s SSL VPN-Plus™ solution to provide simple, secure, and high-performance remote access for its global telecommunications customer service team.
With carrier and service provider customers all over the world, Alcatel-Lucent support team members had previously used a variety of VPN products to connect to customer networks for service and support tasks. Depending on the service team member and the customer, there were different access products and procedures in place, with no standard methods across the global support staff. In late 2006, Alcatel-Lucent consolidated its customer network access operations at a remote connection center in Istanbul, Turkey, and took the opportunity to standardize remote connection procedures.
“We didn’t like having to distribute and configure VPN client software,” said Atilla Akalin, team leader of Alcatel-Lucent’s International Support Service Team. “We have more than 100 engineers all over the world,” he says, “and they’re not always located in the same place or at the same machine. Our goal was to allow access from anywhere while making sure we met our customers’ security requirements.”
