Partnership with IFSEC enables Dark Reading to cover new areas of security and expand its audience.
Dark Reading today introduces a new area of security coverage and a new section on its navigation bar: Physical Security.
In partnership with IFSEC Global, a sister brand in our parent company of Informa PLC, Dark Reading will now offer daily news and feature coverage of issues related to enterprise physical security, including video surveillance, building access control, user/visitor identity checks, fire system security, and much more.
Much of the coverage will be provided by IFSEC, which operates one of the most widely-read physical security news sites in Europe, as well as one of the largest European conferences for physical security professionals.
The physical security market is one of the fastest-growing markets in technology, with enterprises spending about $93.5 billion per year today and expected to spend more than $120 billion in 2025, according to the research firm Markets and Markets. As technologies such as IoT and smart buildings continue to grow, physical security and cybersecurity operations are becoming increasingly intertwined.
Dark Reading’s new Physical Security section will help readers navigate the challenges and trends surrounding the convergence of physical and logical security, including the relationship between the teams that manage building security and the teams that manage cybersecurity.
Whether you are a physical security professional who is applying cyber technology to building security and video surveillance or a cybersecurity pro who is increasingly becoming responsible for physical attacks on your systems and users, the Dark Reading Physical Security section will offer content for you. As with all of our coverage at Dark Reading, we hope it helps you to do your job on a day-to-day basis.
In addition to checking out the new section, we hope you will add the IFSEC Global news site to your list of bookmarks that also help you with day-to-day security operations. IFSEC has been covering cyber issues for years, and now will be carrying some Dark Reading coverage in its Cyber Security section as well.
As with all Dark Reading content, we invite you to provide feedback and input on our daily coverage of the security industry. If there are topics you’d like to see covered, or if you’d like to tell us how we’re doing, please drop us a line.
