Businesses extending their sites and applications onto Akamai's Intelligent Platform expect exceptional availability of their mission-critical Web sites and applications along with assistance in meeting the stringent data compliance requirements associated with data privacy. As enterprises push more of their business transactions to the Internet, they expose critical data and operations to the threat of a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack.
