US Officials: Russian Hackers Could Spread Online Rumors Of Voter Fraud

US authorities ask election officials to be alert to false documents posted online to influence public perception.

US authorities have warned that Russian hackers may try to spread rumors of voter fraud by posting false documents online, reports Reuters.

State and local election bodies have been told to be alert to such a move to undermine the November 8 US presidential election, although authorities maintain attackers can't actually interfere with the election process and influence the outcome.

Russia-backed hackers have been active in the past months targeting, among others, the Democratic Party networks and states’ voter database. But authorities believe no damage to the electoral process was done.

We could rely on the current and verified reports to date of not just voter fraud but, let's call it "Machine Fraud".

No paper ballot is an excellent way to alter the outcome of an election.

Especially when the polling volunteers go "well, that's been happening a lot".

Sounds more than suspicious...criminal, in my IANAL eyes.
