A recent poll conducted at a Dubai-based security conference found that 48% of attendees say their organization does not have a senior executive dedicated to cybersecurity.

The survey, conducted by United Arab Emirates-based DarkMatter and polling visitors to the Gulf Information Security Expo & Conference (GISEC) 2016, also found that 34% of attendees believe their organizations are not equipped to handle a breach.

Of the more than 200 visitors surveyed, 23% believed their organizations were victims of security breach from within, 32% think they were victims of an external breach, and 46% say human factors are most often behind these incidents.

DarkMatter's survey also found what it says is an alarming stat: half of the UAE conference respondents put the responsibility of security onto vendors rather than on users or customers of the products.
