PRESS RELEASE
NASHUA, N.H., June 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyber security expert and noted entrepreneur Gary Miliefsky has unveiled a breakthrough antispyware program that blocks online eavesdropping. The program, SnoopWall, will debut on the popular crowdfunding site Kickstarter today.
SnoopWall blocks remote access to mobile devices by protecting data-leakage ports including webcams, microphones, and GPS. Restricting access to these ports prevents cyber snoops from extracting valuable information.
"In light of recent news, people are more aware of their online vulnerability.
That awareness has sparked a welcome conversation about remote eavesdropping and cyber security solutions," said Miliefsky, who has patented multiple internet security technologies. "Antivirus software doesn't block remote access to devices, and firewalls are unable to protect users once they 'trust' an application. Who knows what kind of personal information can get into the hands of cybercriminals when they have unrestricted access to our devices."
According to AntiVirusTruth.org, at least 20% of malware cannot be detected by antivirus software and firewalls. Undetected malware could potentially lead to remote eavesdropping and cybercrime. SnoopWall stops current and future malicious applications, advanced persistent threats (APTs), and zero-day (0day) malware. It uniquely protects users without frequent updates.
Miliefsky added, "SnoopWall is a smart solution to a cyber security problem that continues to grow. We're excited to share our project with the Kickstarter community."
Kickstarter contributions will range from $5 for an early-bird preview to $1,000 for a SnoopWall launch party VIP invite. SnoopWall will be available for Android and Windows platforms late this summer. The project can be viewed at http://tinyurl.com/snoopwall-at-kickstarter.
