Plus one to the importance of collaboration
J. Wolfgang Goerlich's comments on the value delivered by CISOs and security teams collaborating with IT and application development teams reasonate strongly for me. The finding that such collaboration leads to the lowest level of breaches is compelling. Collaboration combined with automation are absolutely key to adopting and managing the the hybrid cloud that improve business outcomes: faster application delivery and faster time to value for customers. I'm also interested to learn how the drive to consolidate the tools in use might be impacted by the adoption of newer application platforms. So often, tools that work well in more traditional application stacks are not designed for newer cloud native application stacks. I believe there is an opportunity here to use automation solutions like Ansible to create integrations between existing security solutions as a first step to a more unified experience.

Incorporating a Prevention Mindset into Threat Detection and Response
Threat detection and response systems, by definition, are reactive because they have to wait for damage to be done before finding the attack. With a prevention-mindset, security teams can proactively anticipate the attacker's next move, rather than reacting to specific threats or trying to detect the latest techniques in real-time. The report covers areas enterprises should focus on: What positive response looks like. Improving security hygiene. Combining preventive actions with red team efforts.
