There was a time
When an IBM 1400 card punch was new, when the System/360 wsa new and nobody knew about it.  The PC was new and nobody knew how it would change and decimate IBM at the rise of Microsoft.  (IBM with revenue and assets and 400,000 staff still found a way to lose to a 32 person company and little else).  As was, as is today.  AI is very very new and nobody knows how it really works for impact.  Your points are well taken but we have no barrier poles or guidelines for measure - these will come over time.  So far - questionable if we guage Watson.  Jeopardy - stunt and it's cancer diagnosis project was a disaster - it's conclusions could have killed people.  Went down on CVS for a time.  AI is not changing the world, yet.

A dentist many years ago told me that robotic surgery may be fine and good but a robot's fingers per se cannot "feel" the same way a human hand can feel something odd.
