Indeed. Cybersecurity of actual voting systems is important, and cybersecurity in general is important, but this stuff was no more "election hacking" than any other scandal involving a "smoking email". Mark Foley comes to mind.

Once again the focus is wrong

If politicians are ethical, honest, and treat people fairly then who cares.  Unethical content in Emails has more to do with corrupt politicians.  We need to make sure our voting system cannot be manipulated.  Emails being release at the last minute by a group is not an election security risk!
