Re: vDOS?
vDOS was just the name they gave their service (obviously used in DoS/DDoS).

Re: Stresser and Booter Services
"... Lastly, even if some were legit services it only takes a few instances to get them locked up for years ..."

If it is not legit it would return form the first customer and then no way for them to find next one.

How?
"... the duo reportedly made over $600,000. ..."

I am wondering how they made that much money, who paid them it the good question to ask I would say.

Re: Stresser and Booter Services
"... a contractual agreement between the pen testers and the organization ..."

That makes sense, there would not be any reason for them to bring down the organization's network in that case.

"...  stresser or booter ..."

It depends on what type of stresser or booter are they I assume.

vDOS?
What is vDOS? I have not heard it, I am assuming it is not DDOS.

Re: Stresser and Booter Services
That is what their defense is claiming, not that it is what actually took place.  Second, there would need to be a contractual agreement between the pen testers and the organization and I doubt money hungry 18 year olds would bother.  Lastly, even if some were legit services it only takes a few instances to get them locked up for years.

Stresser and Booter Services
Why would stresser or booter services be illegal if the customer had in fact requested them?

The 10 Most Impactful Types of Vulnerabilities for Enterprises Today
Managing system vulnerabilities is one of the old est - and most frustrating - security challenges that enterprise defenders face. Every software application and hardware device ships with intrinsic flaws - flaws that, if critical enough, attackers can exploit from anywhere in the world. It's crucial that defenders take stock of what areas of the tech stack have the most emerging, and critical, vulnerabilities they must manage. It's not just zero day vulnerabilities. Consider that CISA's Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) catalog lists vulnerabilitlies in widely used applications that are "actively exploited," and most of them are flaws that were discovered several years ago and have been fixed. There are also emerging vulnerabilities in 5G networks, cloud infrastructure, Edge applications, and firmwares to consider.
