Re: Good luck
@jcavery: That was years ago.  Since then, Joe Black has been "outed" in the InfoSec community as what his peers consider to be something of a pretender.

Or were you speaking of HackProof?

Re: Good luck

Black
Bold move for a small company (not exactly the same as Google putting up mega-bug bounties for those who can hack its systems).  As long as they don't go actively antagonizing black-hatters and "hacktivists," though.  That's what Joseph Black, of Black & Berg, did with Lulzsec some years back, and that quickly turned out very poorly for Black.

Re: Good luck
This is really no different than a bug bounty program.  It's just a more sensationalized version of one.  Expect that kind of response accordingly, I think.

Re: Good luck
True, but it will encourage "amateur" hackers to improve their skills so they can better defend against those state-backed hackers. Just like it will improve HackProof's defenses if someone is able to penetrate it. I don't think the professional black hatters will be participating in contests of any kind as you said anyway

Good luck
Cities around the US send "invitations for free [sports team] tickets!" to people who have outstanding warrants and predictably the stupid ones show up. This challenge would be easier to take seriously if it wasn't set up like a veritable "honey pot". Nation-state backed hackers - arguably the best of the best - will not likely show up.

CVE-2021-41615
PUBLISHED: 2022-08-08
websda.c in GoAhead WebServer 2.1.8 has insufficient nonce entropy because the nonce calculation relies on the hardcoded onceuponatimeinparadise value, which does not follow the secret-data guideline for HTTP Digest Access Authentication in RFC 7616 section 3.3 (or RFC 2617 section 3.2.1).
