Re: Skeptical at best
Never. Trust is something that is very hard to regain. Once you prove untrustworthy, IE been caught doing the thing you promise not to do, its impossible. One man's opinion.

Re: Skeptical at best
And, besides, how long would it take of China forbearing (or, at least, appearing to forbear) before many of us actually come to trust them?

Better than nothing

Obviously some type of agreement is better than nothing, instead of going different direction there is a effort to find a common ground. Reality is that US is doing more to China than China to US.

Agree. There is a risk in all agreements between governments. There is really no enforcement on what they should be doing, at the end of the day it is voluntary.

Agree. If somehow it would not get done, they can build a new identical bridge and sell it with reduced price to the rest of the world. Creative minds :--))

Skeptical at best
I'll believe this when I see it. As the article states, its one thing to say your are going to do something but its whole thing entirely to actually follow through.

Re: Oh boy
I'm sure that they will honor this deal just as much as the US will...

Incorporating a Prevention Mindset into Threat Detection and Response
Threat detection and response systems, by definition, are reactive because they have to wait for damage to be done before finding the attack. With a prevention-mindset, security teams can proactively anticipate the attacker's next move, rather than reacting to specific threats or trying to detect the latest techniques in real-time. The report covers areas enterprises should focus on: What positive response looks like. Improving security hygiene. Combining preventive actions with red team efforts.
