Intersections Offers ID Protection Service For $10/Year

Identity Guard package of identity theft protection services and solutions included daily Internet monitoring

CHANTILLY, VA, January 13, 2010 -- Intersections Inc. (NASDAQ: INTX), North America's leading provider of consumer identity theft prevention services which has served over 30 million consumers, today announced its latest addition to the Identity Guard' product suite, Identity Guard' Basic ProtectionSM (www.identityguard.com/basic). Basic ProtectionSM offers consumers a fundamental package of identity theft protection services and solutions, including daily Internet monitoring of personal information, lost wallet protection, access to the Identity Theft Recovery Unit and $1 million loss reimbursement insurance for only $10 for a one-year subscription.

"Our goal is to raise awareness among consumers about identity exposure. Even with reports of identity theft making headlines almost daily, many consumers are still not taking preventative measures. As the industry leader of consumer identity theft protection services, Intersections is offering Identity Guard' Basic ProtectionSM as a way to get consumers to take an important first step toward protecting their identities. At $10 per year, this is an extraordinary value, considering that similar competitor solutions that 'protect your good name' sell for ten times as much," said Steve Schwartz, Intersections' Executive Vice President of Consumer Solutions.

"Consumers have been overwhelmed and confused by the plethora of identity theft protection services making false claims to keep them protected," says Schwartz. "Identity Guard' Basic ProtectionSM is an effective, entry-level source of protection. The Identity Guard' suite of products is designed to help protect consumers, from this baseline service to our highly recommended and comprehensive Identity Guard' Total ProtectionSM service."

Identity Guard' Basic ProtectionSM features:

* Internet Surveillance " Monitors personal information such as Social Security numbers, credit card numbers and bank account information and quickly sends alerts when this information is exposed online. * Lost Wallet Protection " In the event a wallet is lost or stolen, this service will help subscribers cancel all their credit cards (cards do not have to be pre-registered to benefit from this service) while also providing access to up to $2,000 from their credit card account. * Personal ID Risk Assessment' - Analyzes a subscriber's vulnerability to identity theft using advanced technology that helps determine their risk level. * Identity Monitoring " Subscribers will be notified if any credit applications are being opened in their names or if their personal information is being compromised. * Comprehensive Member Services " Provides unlimited, toll-free, professional customer service as well as the dedicated Identity Theft Recovery Unit (ITRU) which gives subscribers guidance and assistance as they work to recover their stolen information and compromised assets, should they ever become identity theft victims. * $1 Million Identity Theft Loss Reimbursement Insurance " Provides coverage of $1 million (no deductible) for loss reimbursement for certain expenses related to recovering from an identity theft event. The insurance carrier will reimburse victims of identity theft for the difference between a victim's actual loss and the amount reimbursed to them by their financial institution, up to $1 million, provided any covered losses are reported to Intersections and the insurance carrier within 90 days of the discovery of the event and the customer allows Intersections and the insurance carrier to help them recover such losses. * Free Annual Credit Report Assistance " Provides guidance to subscribers who wish to access their free annual credit report.

Identity Guard' Basic ProtectionSM is available immediately and provides affordable protection that's easy to access and easy to maintain. It provides early warning signs to consumers to help keep criminals from taking advantage of their personal information. Identity Guard' Basic ProtectionSM can alert subscribers to suspicious activity or certain changes that are detected.
