Barrier1 Introduces Clientless NAC

Complete NAC brings in line real-time inspection and protection beyond the client component

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Barrier1, a fast growing "Intelligent Threat Management System (TM)," announces the release of Complete NAC (network access control).

Complete NAC was developed to solve the existing problems faced with traditional NAC solutions. Many traditional NAC solutions may not work in existing infrastructures, they may work independently from the rest of the network and security components, are expensive, and difficult to install and maintain. Jason McDonald, Barrier1 NAC Architect, states, "Barrier1 design goals were set out to change the landscape of NAC by bringing automation, ease of use, and inclusion of the endpoint as part of the Intelligent Threat Network Architecture (TM)."

Barrier1 Complete NAC solves these problems. The innovative design brings automation without wholesale network changes to NAC functions such as Remediation, Enhanced Security, Compliancy, Monitoring, and Alerting. In addition, end points are now part of the "Intelligent Threat Management (TM)" that Barrier1 has pioneered.

All IP devices that connect into a network become part of that network. As mobility has become part of the network landscape, it brings on an entirely new entrance point into existing networks. Security measures stayed the same, independent. Even thought personal firewalls and anti virus components were placed on laptops, cyber criminals have continued to find innovative ways to compromise these protections. Barrier1 Complete NAC brings in line real time inspection and protection beyond the client component.

Five years ago, Barrier1 (TM) launched a platform that inspects ALL 7 OSI layers in near real time from any IP devices, using Intelligence. While traditional approaches were concerned with just the edge or gateway, Barrier1 was inspecting all IP devices, and using its patent-pending Intelligent "AARE Engine" to go beyond list-based methods. Barrier1 Complete NAC closes another possible entry point into enterprise networks.
