The acquisition brings password cracking and password auditing capabilities together in a single company.
Distributed password cracking and password auditing have come together as Terahash announced the acquisition of L0phtCrack. Terms of the deal were not released.
In the release announcing the purchase, Terahash wrote that it will immediately begin work on L0phtCrack 8 with the goal of ultimately integrating L0phtCrack with Terahash Hashstack. Among the benefits Terahash seeks with the acquisition is improved user interface sophistication and user friendliness, said Jeremi M. Gosney, founder & CEO at Terahash.
Bringing the two together will, according to Terahash, serve the needs of red, blue, and purple teams, penetration testers, compliance auditors, information security professionals, and IT administrators.
