Magnitude exploit kit has popped up in new malvertising campaign and dropping CryptoWall.
Researchers at Malwarebytes have witnessed a spike in malvertising attacks that are pushing the Magnitude exploit kit and dropping CryptoWall ransomware on compromised machines.
Magnitude is exploiting a recently patched Adobe vulnerability, CVE-2015-7645, continuing a trend. Researchers from Invincea in August reported that malvertising campaigns -- spreading ransomware, banking Trojans, and bot code -- peaked in June, when they compromised a string of high-profile Adobe Flash zero-days.
