Ivanti Acquires MobileIron & Pulse Secure

The company plans to use these acquisitions to strengthen and secure IT connections across remote devices and infrastructure.

Ivanti, provider of technology to automate IT and security operations, has finalized its acquisitions of MobileIron and Pulse Secure to help organizations better manage and protect remote devices and services.

MobileIron provides mobile-focused endpoint management technology, threat defense, and zero-trust authentication. The company was founded in 2007 and has raised $164 million in funding. Under the terms of the acquisition, Ivanti bought all outstanding shares of MobileIron common stock for a total value of about $872 million.

Pulse Secure, founded in 2014, provides secure remote access tools, endpoint management technology, zero-trust authentication, network visibility, and Internet of Things security. The company was acquired from affiliates of Siris Capital Group, LLC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 

Ivanti plans to use these technologies to help businesses proactively self-secure and self-service devices in an environment where employees, IT infrastructure, and customers are all remote. With these platforms, employees can implement zero-trust access and manage device health and performance so they can address security risks before they affect the organization.
