PRESS RELEASE

PALO ALTO, Calif., Aug. 31, 2021 – Data Theorem, Inc., a leading provider of modern application security, today announced that new functionality in its award-winning Analyzer Engine delivers unified application security (AppSec) support across Apple desktop, laptop and mobile devices using Apple M1 chips. Now, dynamic application security testing (DAST), interactive application security testing (IAST), static application security testing (SAST), software composition analysis (SCA), and API security coverage can be automated using Data Theorem’s Analyzer Engine to increase DevSecOps support for iOS apps developed for Apple’s M1 devices.

Apple’s recent introduction of the M1 chip across the Macintosh device portfolio represents a new modern technology hardware and operating system for applications. As a result, Data Theorem made enhancements to its Analyzer Engine to help organizations secure and mobilize their iOS applications to run on M1 Macintosh devices such as iMacs, MacBooks, and Mac mini desktops.

With this announcement, Data Theorem has extended its application security coverage to protect modern applications running on the latest desktop and laptop computing architecture from Apple as the Apple App Store converges the development ecosystems of iOS and MacOS. Data Theorem customers do not have to make any changes to their existing workflow since Data Theorem’s Analyzer Engine now includes iOS apps verified by Mac OS M1 devices. The updated MacOS App Store will be included in Data Theorem’s application security coverage as part of customers’ existing license support.

“Data Theorem consistently innovates its security platform toward modern application stacks,” said Doug Dooley, Data Theorem COO. “This is the first time we are aware of that Apple desktop, laptop, and mobile application security are all automated by a common analyzer engine. We are pleased to offer this new functionality for increased third-party security coverage and tools supporting Apple’s latest innovations that represent the future of Apple’s Mac product line.”

Data Theorem’s award-winning Analyzer Engine leverages a new type of dynamic and run-time analysis that is fully integrated into the CI/CD process, and enables organizations to conduct continuous, automated security inspection and remediation. It powers Data Theorem’s broad AppSec portfolio to protect organizations from data breaches with application security testing and protection for modern web frameworks, API-driven microservices and cloud resources.

Since its inception addressing the biggest challenges in the application security market, Data Theorem has continued to innovate over the years to extend its differentiated AppSec technology platform to support today’s modern desktop and laptop applications. Data Theorem now enables organizations to use a unified AppSec solution to support applications built for iOS and MacOS M1 devices.
