Barracuda Networks has agreed to acquire Skout Cybersecurity in a deal that will bring Barracuda into the extended detection and response (XDR) market with a new tool designed for managed service providers (MSPs).

Melville, NY-based Skout Cybersecurity was founded in 2013 to build a security platform that offers security monitoring, as well as endpoint and email protection for channel partners. So far it has raised $25 million in funding, Crunchbase reports. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition will expand Barracuda's product lineup for MSPs with Skout's technology, which includes an XDR platform that connects to security infrastructure such as email, firewall, identity and access, and a security operations center (SOC) that aids in detection and response.
