Rapid7, a company providing cloud-based analytics, automation, and visibility functions, has announced the acquisition of tCell, a firm that offers web application security through a web-application firewall (WAF). Financial details of the purchase have not been disclosed.

The companies announced that tCell's runtime application self-protection (RASP) and web application monitoring are expected to extend and enhance the capabilities of Rapid7's Insight Platform.

According to a statement announcing the acquisition, "The acquisition of tCell is not expected to have a material financial impact to Rapid7’s Annualized Recurring Revenue growth, revenue, and non-GAAP earnings (loss) per share for calendar year 2018, as guided on August 6, 2018."
