Forcepoint today announced that it is acquiring RedOwl in a move to expand the capabilities of its data leakage protection and insider threat products.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Forcepoint said it plans to embed RedOwl's user and entity behavior analytics technology across its portfolio of products, including Forcepoint DLP and Forcepoint Insider Threat. RedOwl's technology is used to analyze data and assess high-risk events and behaviors.

"The world has fundamentally changed and the way we think about security must change, as well. If the cybersecurity industry fails to put people at the center, it is certain to fall short in helping customers protect their most vital assets," Matthew Moynahan, Forcepoint CEO said in a statement.
