A Hollywood film production company is developing a television show that celebrates new talent in the field of security research, and helps a general audience learn more about what ethical hackers do.

Pulse Films of Los Angeles is currently casting new talent for a cable television show that will feature hacking competitions and profile the personalities of up-and-coming security researchers and penetration testers. The show, which is scheduled to appear on a major cable network, will highlight the skills and personalities of ethical hackers through a combination of both specialized and generalized competitions, with players working both individually and in teams.

According to Pulse producers, the as-yet-unnamed program seeks to focus on emerging talent, rather than established researchers, in the "American Idol" tradition. Interested participants don’t need any specific certifications or skill sets to apply, but they should be willing to discuss their experiences and the work they’ve done.
