National Security Agency's program introduces girls to cybersecurity.

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS (August 5, 2019) – The Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana (GSGCNWI) has partnered with Evolve Security and 1871 to organize a National Security Agency (NSA) GenCyber summer camp that depicts cybersecurity as a rewarding, challenging, interesting and fun career field to girls (12-16 years of age). The primary objective is to inspire teenage girls to consider and pursue careers in cybersecurity. The event is open to the media.

Twenty-seven Girl Scouts, will spend five days working on challenging hands-on curriculum to learn about cybersecurity attacks, hardware and software basics, data privacy, ethics, social engineering, hacking, elementary programming, safe online behavior, entrepreneurship and penetration testing. The typical daily schedule will involve classroom instruction on cybersecurity concepts, followed by hands-on demonstrations and group exercises.
