Xceedium Teams With RSA To Provide Interoperable Authentication And Policy Enforcement Technology

Certification formalizes a technical partnership and allows joint customers to leverage Xceedium's entitlement management solution to manage access to network resources for high-risk users through the use of RSA SecurID two-factor authentication technology

JERSEY CITY, N.J. Xceedium, Inc., the premier provider of entitlement management solutions that control high-risk users, today announced that it has joined the RSA Secured' Partner Program and RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC), has certified interoperability between Xceediums GateKeeper and the RSA SecurID' two-factor authentication solution. This certification formalizes a technical partnership with RSA and allows joint customers to leverage Xceediums comprehensive entitlement management solution to manage access to network resources for high-risk users through the use of RSA SecurID two-factor authentication technology.

The RSA SecurID two-factor authentication system is as simple to use as entering a password, but significantly more secure. Used in conjunction with RSA' Authentication Manager software, an RSA SecurID authenticator functions like an ATM card for a company network, requiring users to identify themselves with two unique factors something they know (a password or PIN), and something they have (such as a hardware or software token) before they are granted access to secure business information.

We are pleased that Xceedium has achieved interoperability between RSA SecurID technology and Xceedium Gatekeeper as it is becoming more critical than ever for our customers to increase the security and integrity of their valuable information, said D.J. Long, Senior Director, Corporate Development at RSA. Our organizations are committed to mitigating risk to sensitive corporate and government information throughout its lifecycle to ensure that it is always an asset and never a liability.

The Xceedium GateKeeper is a hardened appliance that provides restrictive access, granular enforcement, logging and comprehensive reporting, enabling centralized management of high-risk user entitlements and a simple, cost-effective way to satisfy compliance requirements while maintaining high levels of operational efficiency. Xceedium GateKeeper enforces controls by compartmentalizing and containing high-risk users to authorized areas, then monitors, logs, alerts, records and reports on all of their activities. Xceediums worldwide customer list includes large government agencies, financial institutions and mid-sized organizations that need solutions for managing outsourcing risk, vendor access control, secure remote administration or automating compliance for PCI DSS or HIPAA regulations.

According to recent research, inside threats have increased by more than 100 percent over the past year, said Cheryl Traverse, President and CEO of Xceedium. With this technological partnership, joint customers can enjoy the benefits of RSA SecurID strong authentication technology and the comprehensive entitlement management technology of the Xceedium GateKeeper to control its high-risk users.

About the RSA Secured Partner Program The RSA Secured Partner Program is one of the largest alliance programs of its type, bringing over a dozen years of experience and hundreds of complementary solutions together. RSA SecurID, RSA' Access Manager, RSA' Digital Certificate Manager, RSA enVision', RSA' Federated Identity Manager and RSA' Key Manager certification programs bring added assurance to customers that the solutions they are deploying are certified as interoperable with industry leading products, helping them achieve faster time to deployment and lower overall cost of ownership.
