SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Vietnam's leading dairy producer, the Vietnam Dairy Products Company (Vinamilk), has deployed the Juniper Networks NetScreen-50 firewall/VPNs and Secure Access 4000 SSL VPNs in a layered security model to protect its nationwide business infrastructure and services for email, file sharing, manufacturing and administrative functions.

'Juniper's firewall/VPNs protect our head office data centers from a wide range of network-based threats, while Juniper's SSL VPNs provides safe access for our factories and other remote sites and staff to corporate data and applications,' said Tran Nguyen Son, Vinamilk's IT Manager. 'We selected the Juniper Networks solutions because of their excellent usability, comprehensive protection against a wide range of threats, low management overhead and seamless interoperability between the SSL VPN and firewall products.'

The Juniper Networks NetScreen-50 appliances are integrated security devices for enterprise branch and remote offices, as well as small-to-medium-sized companies. They provide solutions for perimeter security with multiple DMZs, VPNs for wireless LAN security or protection of internal networks. The NetScreen-50 appliance is a high-performance integrated security appliance, offering 170 Mbps of firewall and 45 Mbps of 3DES or AES VPN performance with support for 64,000 concurrent sessions and 500 VPN tunnels.

The Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPNs are based on the Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) software platform, which uses SSL, the security protocol found in all standard Web browsers. The use of SSL for remote access for employees, partners, and customers eliminates the need for client-side software deployment, changes to internal servers, and costly on-going client maintenance and desktop support. The Secure Access appliances combine the overall benefit of a lower total cost of ownership over traditional IPSec client solutions with unique end-to-end security features. Its enhanced access methods enable network administrators to provision access by user group or purpose to virtually any resource, while ensuring compliance with the organization's security policies and business requirements.

'Vietnam is the fastest growing network security market in Asia Pacific,' said Ha-Huy Hao, country manager, Vietnam, for Juniper Networks. 'We are seeing strong demand for high-performance business networking solutions, which will be instrumental in helping businesses, such as Vinamilk, to expand rapidly while protecting their corporate assets.'
