BARCELONA -- As the world’s telecommunications carriers migrate to packet-based IP protocols, they face a new set of challenges to preserve network security and assure performance integrity across a range of sophisticated end-user applications. To help its customers overcome these challenges, Freescale is readying its multi-core processors to enable a new generation of secure and intelligent application-aware networks.

Freescale and Qosmos are combining the high performance of Freescale’s MPC8572 multi-core processor with powerful Qoala Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) and Information Extraction technology from Qosmos. This platform capability will be able to scale from the dual core MPC8572 to Freescale’s forthcoming Multi-core Platform.
