SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- Mirapoint, the secure messaging experts, today announced that its newest release of the RazorGate email security appliance has set a new industry benchmark for performance of more than 25 million messages of throughput per day. The RazorGate accomplishes this at roughly half the cost of competing products, further solidifying the RazorGate appliance’s price-performance leadership. These performance increases, re-affirming RazorGate’s position at the head of the email security market, have come as the result of Mirapoint’s continued innovation with its RazorGate software architecture.

Based upon actual usage trials carried out with existing Mirapoint customers, the new RazorGate appliances demonstrated a 50 percent improvement in the throughput of messages running over 10,000 simultaneous incoming connections with Mirapoint’s RAPID Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam applications. This performance improvement increases to 112 percent with Mirapoint’s MailHurdle functionality turned on.

The RazorGate appliance delivers an industry leading message throughput of some 25,315,200 messages per day, equating to more performance at half the price of other leading email security appliances.
