Citrix says service hit by cyberattack using credential data leaked from earlier breaches of other sites.

GoToMyPC users are now required to reset their passwords after the company announced an increase in cyberattacks, reports KrebsOnSecurity. In a June 19 post on the company website, the remote-access software service from Citrix called for customers to reset passwords through the login link and advised the use of strong credentials.
The notice says the move comes in the wake of “a very sophisticated password attack” and Citrix official John Bennett said the breach was a result of users employing one password across multiple online accounts. He alleged hackers had likely got sensitive keywords from details leaked online following breaches of other websites. Bennett ruled out a hack of Citrix or its platforms.
KrebsOnSecurity says this is a definitely a possibility because stolen data from the recent breaches of servers at LinkedIn, MySpace, and Tumblr, were posted online and criminals may have accessed those.
