CUPERTINO, Calif. -- ForeScout Technologies, a leading provider of clientless network access control (NAC) for Fortune 500 enterprises and government organizations, today announced the introduction of its newest CounterACT NAC appliance, the CT-4000. The CounterACT CT-4000, an out-of-band appliance that spans from a managed switch, enforces NAC policies on up to 4,000 concurrent connections, supports up to 4Gbps sustained throughput, and supports unlimited VLAN connections.

"NAC is being embraced by the enterprise as an essential technology for handling some of the top network security concerns facing security professionals," said Andrew Braunberg, Research Director, Enterprise Security & Software with Current Analysis. "Even with NAC experiencing adoption, the enterprise still faces the challenge of selecting a NAC product that is flexible enough to handle a variety of deployment scenarios. With the expansion of their CounterACT product family, ForeScout looks to provide a flexible offering meeting specific deployment demands of organizations selecting an out-of-band approach."

The CT-4000 will expand ForeScout's CounterACT portfolio, which consists of its CounterACT: CT-R appliance, which supports branch offices with fewer than 50 devices; CT-100, which supports up to 250 devices; CT-1000, which supports up to 1,000 devices; and CT-2000, which supports up to 2,500 devices. The CT-4000 expands the options available to global enterprises that need to create a NAC solution with appliances that are appropriately designed and priced for each type of location.

"Deployment and operational flexibility are some of the most crucial elements of providing a working network access control solution," said Ray Wizbowski, vice president of marketing for ForeScout Technologies. "We have worked with our customers to understand their real world needs and as a result have designed products for every real-world scenario -- like each one of the global customers across multiple verticals already using ForeScout NAC solutions. Today's organizations have locations around the world that vary widely in size and employee count. The CT-4000 is simply another option for those enterprises looking to customize their solution so that it covers all of their network access control requirements."
