BETHESDA, Md. -- Fidelis Security Systems, the authority on extrusion prevention, today announced that the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System®, Fidelis XPS™, is undergoing Common Criteria-based evaluation and certification and has achieved Common Criteria “In Evaluation” status. Fidelis XPS is the first extrusion prevention solution to undergo this long and rigorous testing process and reach this status by the International Standards Organization. Fidelis XPS is now listed on the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme for IT Security (CCEVS) Web site at: http://www.niap-ccevs.org/cc-scheme/in_evaluation.cfm.

Fidelis XPS is the only solution able to identify and stop data leakages in real time across all channels on all ports, even on gigabit-speed networks. The Common Criteria are an internationally recognized standard to evaluate and certify the level of security, compatibility and consistency of a particular product, system or service. Fidelis Security Systems has contracted with SAIC’s Common Criteria Testing Lab (CCTL) to perform the evaluation. The certification will ensure that Fidelis XPS has been tested and validated against strict security and assurance requirements.

NIAP CCEVS certification, a critical requirement for U.S. government purchases of security products, has been required by all Department of Defense users under directive 8500.1 since July 2003 and is called for under the President’s National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace, among other Government mandates and requirements.
