ConSentry Networks announced Release 3.0 of its LANShield OS and InSight Command Center
MILPITAS, Calif. -- ConSentry Networks, a leading provider of secure LAN solutions, announced today Release 3.0 of its LANShield(TM) OS and InSight(TM) Command Center, adding control, visibility, and flexibility enhancements to further simplify the integration of LAN security in enterprise networks. The LANShield OS powers the CS4048 switch and the CS2400 and CS1000 controller platforms and has been providing LAN security in active production networks for more than a year. To date, ConSentry has deployed LANShield systems capable of controlling more than a half million end users. Supporting both pre-admission and post-admission controls, the ConSentry LANShield family provides enterprises with a proven and affordable appliance and switch solution for controlling access to resources and applications on the LAN.
Key highlights of LANShield and InSight 3.0:
-- More granular, customizable admission control
-- Automatic authentication
-- Simplified incident response
-- New high-level Top 10 view summaries and time-based drill-down views
-- Support for twice the user count
"ConSentry continues to give me easier ways to see and control users on my LAN," said Steve Berg, director of IT at Omneon Video Networks. "We were able to drop in the solution, without making any infrastructure changes, and immediately see all LAN activity and restrict guest access. Now I've gained more customization capabilities, and as we approach a network upgrade cycle, the option to embed that control directly in our next switches is very compelling."
