MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- AirTight NetworksT, the leading provider of wireless intrusion prevention and performance management solutions, has announced that its recently-introduced SpectraGuardR Sentry wireless IPS product is now available for online purchase. Now, for the first time, consumers and small to medium-sized businesses (SMB) can leverage the efficiency of AirTight Networks' online store to buy Enterprise-level protection against wireless security threats at an entry-level price point.

"The hallmark of a great security technology for the SMB is that it both addresses the security need and doesn't require special training or experience to install and manage," said Rob Enderle, president and founder of the Enderle Group, a leading market research firm. "SpectraGuard Sentry is an easy to use appliance we found could immediately address threats to a wireless network after it was installed. Comprehensive protection now must include protection over your wireless network and Sentry provides an effective option for managing these new wireless threats."

SpectraGuard Sentry protects and prevents against a broad and comprehensive range of potentially treacherous wireless threats, including rogue access points, client mis-associations and ad hoc connections. The product, which incorporates the same intrusion prevention technology engine used in AirTight's SpectraGuard Enterprise, incorporates a standalone sensor that continuously monitors the airwaves in both the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

The solution automatically classifies all wireless devices within range based on policies created by the administrator. Sentry's patent-pending auto-classification technology eliminates time-consuming false alarms and brings accuracy to unmatched levels.

"As a company, we have long understood that the threats inherent in a wireless network environment are huge, whether a company has five users or five thousand," said Dennis Tsu, vice president of marketing at AirTight Networks. "In SpectraGuard Sentry, we have worked to bring comprehensive protection to SOHO and SMB users in an affordable package-and, further, to support these users with the ability to purchase and use the product without hassles."
