SOMERSET, N.J. -- AEP Networks, the leader in Policy Networking solutions, today introduced the latest version of its AEP Netilla Security Platform (NSP) Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Virtual Private Network (VPN). The NSP Release 5.4 includes several performance improvements, new certifications, improvements to the administrator web interface, and new features such as load balancing for failover and scalability. It also includes seamless integration with PowerTerm® WebConnect from Ericom Software to provide improved access to applications residing on Windows Terminal Servers and legacy host systems such as IBM Mainframe (zSeries), IBM Midrange (iSeries), UNIX, Linux, OpenVMS, Tandem and more.

Integration with PowerTerm WebConnect

The integration of AEP’s NSP and Ericom’s Server Based Computing (SBC) solution, PowerTerm WebConnect, addresses everyday business challenges such as remote application access, remote desktop management, business continuity, and privacy of information. This integrated offering enables organizations to provide end-to-end secure remote access to applications for branch offices, employees working from home, contractors, suppliers and business partners in a managed, secure manner.

The NSP / PowerTerm WebConnect integration is a result of a co-development partnership between AEP and Ericom. Ericom is a provider of enterprise-wide application access solutions. PowerTerm WebConnect, when used with the NSP SSL VPN for remote access security, provides the market with a robust, secure and affordable alternative to Citrix® Presentation Server and Citrix Access Gateway. In addition to Windows and legacy application access, PowerTerm WebConnect provides GoToMyPC®-like remote desktop access, centralized administration & management tools, a pcAnywhere®-like remote user support tool, and more. The product integration supports seamless NSP webtop display and NSP policy enforced access to PowerTerm WebConnect enabled applications. The PowerTerm WebConnect product adds significant value to native Microsoft RDP Terminal Services environments with features including application publishing with True Seamless Windows, Windows Terminal Server load balancing and more.

Ericom Founder and CEO, Eran Heyman commented, “For organizations with remote users, secure access of mission-critical applications is a primary concern. The AEP and Ericom offering addresses these concerns with a robust and secure application access solution for anywhere, anytime access. The joint offering creates an agile IT environment that increases overall user productivity and efficiency – reducing TCO and increasing ROI.”
