Fortinet has announced its acquisition of Panopta, whose platform provides visibility and management of the full application delivery stack. According to the announcement, combining the companies' technologies will allow for enhanced real-time monitoring and effectiveness of the Fortinet solution infrastructure.

In addition, Panopta capabilities will be integrated into Fortinet's Security Fabric for deployment to service providers and enterprise customers. Panopta has a significant customer base among service providers; a Fortinet blog post on the acquisition  discusses the combined technologies' improved ability to meet customer service-level agreements across both firms' customer bases.

The purchase has closed. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
