RSA' is announcing major enhancements to the RSA DLP Suite that are engineered to allow global organizations to better discover, monitor and manage risk from sensitive data loss across the infrastructure including smartphones and tablets.
RSA DLP is designed to give organizations the visibility they need to make more educated decisions around security and governance whether sensitive data is accessed via consumerized endpoints, stored in large repositories or provisioned through virtual applications and desktops.
RSA, The Security Division of EMC (NYSE: EMC), today announced enhancements to the RSA' Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Suite, its comprehensive, market-leading suite of risk-based data loss prevention products. The latest version of the RSA DLP Suite is engineered to offer major enhancements that allow global organizations to better discover, monitor and manage risk from sensitive data loss across the infrastructure including smartphones and tablets. Whether sensitive data is accessed via these ever-changing endpoints, stored in Big Data repositories, or provisioned through virtual applications and virtual desktops, RSA DLP is designed to give organizations the visibility they need to make more educated decisions around security and governance.
Organizations today are confronting the challenges of securing massive amounts of sensitive information throughout an expanded infrastructure while, at the same time, battling advanced threats that bypass traditional security measures. RSA’s strategic approach to Security Management leverages the RSA DLP Suite to provide increased visibility into risk across the organization and to enforce controls to reduce those risks.
Expanding DLP to Address The Challenges of the Advanced Enterprise
Organizations need to manage and secure sensitive information across a number of new consumerized endpoints and virtualized data centers. The enhanced RSA DLP Suite is engineered to allow organizations to better manage risk from sensitive data introduced when end users connect to corporate assets using their own consumer grade smartphones, tablets and personal computers. The RSA DLP Suite is designed to now monitor the flow of sensitive data and help prevent data loss whether end users connect to corporate email through Microsoft ActiveSync' or Outlook' Web Access.
In addition, the new RSA DLP Suite is designed to monitor all data transfers from virtual desktops and virtual applications to the end user’s physical device whether it’s a smartphone or a tablet or a home PC. By integrating more deeply with the infrastructure and addressing risk holistically, organizations can avoid deploying agents on multiple devices.
Simplifying DLP Management – Where are The High Value Assets and How To Protect Them
As the amount of data, the variety of loss vectors and the types of sensitive data grow, the management of DLP programs is getting more complex. To address these management challenges RSA has added new functionality to DLP and is also offering two new DLP process management modules called DLP Policy Workflow Manager and DLP Risk Remediation Manager. These DLP process modules are designed to help organizations better manage the lifecycle of data protection policies and to better manage risk discovered through DLP scans.
To simplify the process of discovering and managing risk for data at rest, the new RSA DLP Suite is combining the power of grid-based scanning with native support for Microsoft SharePoint sites and Microsoft Exchange' repositories. With this combination, organizations can now manage risk introduced by the proliferation of data across various Big Data repositories cost effectively.
Manoj Nair, Vice President, Security Management and Compliance Products, RSA, The Security Division of EMC
“RSA continues to be a leader in the security management and compliance market with a platform that provides exceptional network visibility, security analytics and risk based security. The latest release of RSA DLP continues to advance RSA’s security management platform through expanded visibility into the risk from sensitive data and help enable customers to better address security for smartphones and tablets, SharePoint' sites and social media all without compromising on productivity of the end user.”
Derek Brink, vice president and research fellow for IT Security, Aberdeen Group
“Companies of all sizes are seeking the business benefits of advances in disruptive technologies such as social, mobile and cloud – including collaboration, agility, productivity, innovation, higher growth and lower cost. At the same time, most companies are aware that there are associated risks related to security, privacy and compliance of their data that must be managed. Aberdeen’s research confirms that the top performers are the ones who balance this risk and reward, who view DLP not as a technology but as an important element of an enterprise-wide security management program that can scale to help them cope with information explosion and business growth.”
Chuck Bloomquist, Chief Technology Officer, BEW Global
“Organizations not only want to protect their regulatory data such as credit card data and privacy data but also want to gain control on the lifecycle of their intellectual property data,” said. “RSA offers a set of solutions from DLP and their Security Management portfolio that can help customers establish a holistic risk management program focused on protecting sensitive data across the infrastructure from email to endpoint.”
The RSA DLP Suite 9.0 will be generally available in December 2011.
