PRESS RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)-- Apr 21, 2009 Quest Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: QSFT) understands that organizations are looking for ways to save money in these tough economic times, yet continue to manage complex, heterogeneous environments that include users with multiple identities. New product integrations in Quest One Identity Solution help simplify these identity management challenges and further improve efficiency, increase security and achieve compliance.

Organizations focus on separate identity projects such as single sign-on, provisioning, password management, directory consolidation, strong authentication, elevated privilege management, Unix security, auditing, and compliance reporting. In today's economic times, enterprises want to know if these projects- which are often addressed sequentially- can be integrated to save time and resources. Quest helps ensure that these challenges are addressed by expanding product integration in the Quest One Identity Solution.

The newest integration points include:

Quest Privilege Manager for Unix

  • Quest InTrust' - Privilege Manager now has a Knowledge Pack and a Reporting Pack, enabling InTrust to gather Privilege Manager event log data for detailed analysis and reporting.

    • Quest Defender - Privilege Manager takes advantage of the benefits of supplementary two-factor authentication through integration with Defender. The integration provides an additional level of security for execution of sensitive tasks, and Defender's one-time password (OTP) authentication capability can be task-based, time-based or universally applied.

    • Quest Authentication Services - Privilege Manager and Authentication Services integration benefits from the ability to centralize authentication to Active Directory. The combination generates reports that highlight behavior varying from an accepted baseline, making it possible for security and compliance resources to pinpoint areas of activity from Unix and Linux administrators that require further scrutiny.

      Quest ActiveRoles' Server

    • Quest Defender " The Defender Integration Pack for ActiveRoles Server enables organizations to use the rules and roles engine of ActiveRoles to delegate administrative functions within Defender. It also provides the ability to administer Defender through the ActiveRoles web interface, furthering increasing security and convenience.

"In today's economy, IT is being asked to do more with less " to become more efficient without sacrificing security," said Rod Simmons, director, technical strategy, Quest Software. "We will continue to integrate products within Quest One to ensure that organizations are able to get the most value from their identity management investments."
