PRESS RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 25, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- IT security administrators are increasingly concerned their endpoint security is not improving and, in 2013, APTs (Advanced Persistent Threats) are ranked as their biggest headache1.

Lumension®, a global leader in endpoint management and security, today announced several major advancements to the Lumension® Endpoint Management and Security Suite, L.E.M.S.S. that enhances advanced persistent security for the enterprise.

L.E.M.S.S. now includes advanced protection against memory-based attacks. At this week's RSA Conference, Lumension will demonstrate the integration of its recently acquired CoreTrace Bouncer capabilities in the application control module on L.EM.S.S. This new capability will protect against sophisticated Reflective Memory Injection (RMI) attacks that are frequently used to bypass even the most protected endpoints. This new memory injection protection further fortifies Lumension® Application Control to defend against the weaponized payloads and attacks that have become more mainstream in today's IT environment.

Also being demonstrated at RSA is an early preview of new mobile device management (MDM) functionality available on L.E.M.S.S. during the 2nd half of 2013. MDM features being demonstrated include enforced password, remote device lock, disablement of device camera functionality, disablement of non-approved application installation and disablement of back-up to non-approved cloud storage providers.

Unifying the functions of IT security and operations through a single console, single agent architecture, L.E.M.S.S. delivers best-in-class, modularly licensed capabilities across patch management, anti-virus, configuration management, power management, application control, device control and asset management. With the integration of MDM, L.E.M.S.S. enables today's enterprise to support Bring Your Own Device (B.Y.O.D.) initiatives while providing IT with a means to ensure more effective, efficient device management and policy enforcement across mobile endpoints.

"As cybercriminals move away from traditional malware toward targeted, advanced persistent threats, the security industry must evolve its approach in how it equips IT security professionals in the fight against these threats," said C.

Edward Brice, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Lumension.

"Lumension has made a number of significant improvements to the L.E.M.S.S.

platform in an effort to address this shift and lead the industry in stepping beyond traditional signature-based defenses as a stand-alone endpoint security defense."

Also at RSA, Lumension announces enhancements to its Patch and Remediation Module. The module will now have 100% parity with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) for both security and non-security patching. With this enhancement, Lumension customers will have the capability to patch all operating systems and third party applications from the single L.E.M.S.S console.

Lastly, new functionality has been added to Lumension Device Control. Lumension Device Control customers will now have the capability to encrypt a USB device on a PC and unencrypt, read and write onto that USB device from a Mac. This is a key capability for employees who want to work cross platform with PC-based files created in the office and on their home based Macs.

Lumension will demonstrate these capabilities and more at the RSA Conference in booth 1959.
