Integration adds native support for Oracle Database 11g Release 2 and Oracle Internet Directory

(LOS ANGELES, CA " October 13, 2009) Lieberman Software Corporation, a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, has integrated its flagship privileged identity management solution, Enterprise Random Password Manager (ERPM), with Oracle. By adding native support for Oracle' Database 11g Release 2 and Oracle Internet Directory, ERPM now automatically discovers, changes, and propagates all privileged account credentials in the Oracle enterprise, helping organizations control access to sensitive business data and comply with regulatory mandates.
Privileged accounts exist in virtually all applications, databases, and computer and network appliance operating systems in the enterprise. Due to their elevated permissions to access data, run programs and change configuration settings, misuse of privileged identities is a serious threat to security. Regulatory mandates — such as Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI DSS, and HIPAA — require management oversight of privileged accounts and frequent changes to account credentials to prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing sensitive data.
According to research conducted by Forrester, "The exposure to risk from data breaches is growing with evolving external attacks, a rise in concern over insider threats, and greater data mobility. At the same time, organizations are operating under more stringent mandates to protect this data. Compliance requirements — regulatory, contractual, and market-driven — are fueling greater scrutiny over organizations' safeguards and a call for stronger data security measures."1
ERPM provides these internal safeguards by automatically discovering, strengthening, and granting secure access to all privileged account passwords in the Oracle ecosystem. It provides the option to use Oracle Database 11g Release 2 as the ERPM database and manages all of the privileged accounts within Oracle databases. ERPM also controls and secures the privileged credentials present in Oracle middleware and applications that use services and agents with embedded passwords. Without ERPM, these accounts may remain in an unmanaged state, potentially allowing security breaches and violations of regulatory requirements.
Oracle Integration
Comprehensive integration between Lieberman Software ERPM and Oracle includes:
Oracle Database 11g Release 2 — ERPM utilizes the Oracle database as a store for securing all privileged account passwords, with the ability to release passwords to delegated users on demand. It also automatically discovers all Oracle accounts in the database, and updates and propagates the credentials everywhere they are used.
Oracle Internet Directory — ERPM automatically discovers and propagates all Oracle directory service passwords.
Oracle Identity Manager — ERPM synchronizes password updates with an organization's existing access rules and user roles.
