DULLES, VA, June 8, 2011—Leading software security services provider Cigital Inc., today announced the acquisition of Consciere, a leading regional information risk management firm co-founded by Joel Scambray and Kevin Rich. Consciere’s services include information security management consulting, technical assessment and remediation, and staff augmentation. The acquisition strengthens Cigital's reach in the US West coast to include the Northwest, and expands Cigital’s capabilities in support of a global customer base.

Cigital CTO Dr. Gary McGraw has authored twelve books, including best selling titles Exploiting Software and Software Security. Together, Cigital and Consciere will provide improved services to their combined customer lists and continue to assist them in making informed risk management decisions. Consciere is currently headquartered in Seattle, and serves clients throughout the US and Canada. Cigital has six offices throughout the world, including Washington, D.C., New York, London, Amsterdam, Santa Clara, and India.
