Palm Harbor, Fla., USA March 05, 2012, (ISC) (“ISC-squared”), the world’s largest information security professional body and administrators of the CISSP', today announced that candidates can begin registering for computer-based testing (CBT) for CISSP, CISSP concentrations and the SSCP certifications on June 1, 2012. As part of its ongoing commitment to fill the pipeline of qualified information security professionals worldwide, this final stage of (ISC)’s transition to CBT creates a better user experience for a larger pool of candidates and greater global exam accessibility.

Currently, the Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP') and Certification Authorization Professional (CAP') exams are available via CBT at all approved Pearson VUE' testing centers worldwide, and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP') are available via CBT at approved Pearson VUE testing centers throughout Latin America.

“Early pilot programs offering the CISSP exam via CBT have proven successful. We hope that completing this transition from paper-based to computer-based testing will make certification a reality for more qualified candidates than ever before and help meet the acute demand for information security professionals,” said W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director for (ISC).

(ISC)’s transition to computer-based testing is an important investment in the future of its certification programs. This transition provides numerous benefits to candidates, members and the information security community, including:

Fair and precise evaluation of a candidate’s competency

Rapid turnaround of exam results

More choices as to when and where to take the exam

Easier registration

Fortified exam security
