Part of the (ISC)² Foundation’s Information Security Scholarship Program, the Harold F. Tipton Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to honour Mr. Tipton’s legacy by providing aspiring information security professionals an education pathway and by supporting the development of the next generation of information security professionals.
W. Hord Tipton, CISSP-ISSEP, CAP, CISA, executive director for (ISC)², remarked, “Hal’s passion for information security was legendary. He had a significant hand in shaping and growing our profession, and his mentorship and tireless work continue to drive (ISC)²’s mission today. Hal’s work with our organisation as CBK committee chair, past president, chief instructor, and ambassador has made an imprint on us all. We hope to honor his drive, charitable spirit and relentless pursuit of excellence through this new Scholarship by opening doors for students to this exciting, rewarding career field.”
(ISC)² will recognise the first Tipton Memorial Scholarship recipient at its second annual (ISC)² Security Congress, September 10-13, 2012 in Philadelphia.
