Marshal8e6 Releases New Intelligent Email Encryption Service

MailMarshal SendSecure does not require recipients to have any special software installed prior to reading their secured message

Jul 22, 2009 | 05:38 PM

Orange, Calif. " July 21, 2009 " Marshal8e6, a global provider of Secure Web Gateway and email security products for more than 20,000 businesses worldwide, today announced the availability of its new hosted email encryption service for Business to Consumer (B2C) communications - MailMarshal SendSecure. The service is delivered in partnership with email encryption services provider ZixCorp, and will add Intelligent Encryption capabilities to Marshal8e6's suite of end-to-end email security solutions.

MailMarshal SendSecure enables companies to effortlessly send secure email messages to anyone in the world, without having a pre-existing relationship or needing to perform certificate and key exchanges. Recipients are not required to have any special software installed prior to reading their secured message; all they need is a Web browser and an Internet connection.

As a hosted service, there is no on-premise hardware or software that needs installation and no maintenance of encryption keys or certificates. MailMarshal SendSecure helps companies to comply with industry regulations where private communications are mandated, such as financial services, healthcare, government and legal services. It provides the ideal solution for companies of any size that have business-to-consumer email encryption needs.

"MailMarshal SendSecure is a logical extension to MailMarshal SMTP and utilizes the MailMarshal SMTP functionality and policy engines. Within MailMarshal's policy engine, organizations can choose to allow end-users to select messages to be encrypted or allow the policy engine to determine if the contents of an email message warrant it to be encrypted," said Paul Myer, senior vice president, corporate development, Marshal8e6. "Combining MailMarshal's granular policy engine with MailMarshal SendSecure's easy delivery allows organizations to implement an intelligent email encryption solution that does not rely on the user's encryption decision".

"Tougher regulations around the world make it clear that email encryption is a requirement for sensitive information. MailMarshal SendSecure delivers an email encryption service with simple deployment in a hosted environment with set-and-forget encryption policy management," said Nigel Johnson, vice president of product management and business development at ZixCorp. "We are very excited by this partnership and we look forward to helping Marshal8e6 customers protect their sensitive information."

"The addition of this new service rounds out our stable of email security products and enables our customers to have all of their security needs served by one company," Myer added.

Pricing and Availability MailMarshal SendSecure will be offered as a subscription-based hosted service and will be available from Marshal8e6's worldwide channel partners. More information is available at: http://www.marshal8e6.com/solutions/email_security/mailmarshal-sendsecure.asp.
