PRESS RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- December 19, 2012 -- nCircle, the leader in information risk and security performance management, today announced that web application scanning is now included in nCircle PureCloud. This critical functionality is available to all nCircle PureCloud customers at no additional cost and enables PureCloud customers to detect and prioritize web application vulnerabilities within the context of overall IT risk.

The quantity and importance of data connected to web applications make them the target of frequent attacks, and, according to WhiteHat Security, the average web site had 79 serious vulnerabilities in 2011.

The web application scanning technology now available in nCircle PureCloud is based on WebApp360&trade, nCircle's industry leading, enterprise-class web application scanning solution. WebApp360's technology enables users to automatically detect critical web application vulnerabilities within the context of overall IT risk, enabling users to focus resources on the most important risks. With the addition of web application scanning, PureCloud now offers customers an unprecedented, prioritized assessment of IT security risk across their entire network, from web applications to the underlying IT infrastructure supporting them.

PureCloud's web application scanning capability also includes coverage for all categories in the OWASP Top Ten. OWASP is an emerging standards body that develops and maintains a consensus-driven list of the most critical web application security flaws. The OWASP Top Ten is used by U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP), is recommended by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and MITRE, and has been adopted by the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards Council for the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) as well as many other standards.

"Many small businesses are dependent on web based applications to communicate with customers, suppliers and trading partners. Web applications can create significant security risks on the network perimeter that can be exploited to gain access to the corporate network," said Ed Colonna, vice president of business development for cloud solutions. "With the introduction of web application scanning, PureCloud makes it easy to identify vulnerabilities on internal or external corporate networks and is firmly established as the pre-imminent cloud-based security services platform for businesses of all sizes."

Key PureCloud web application security scanning features include:

· Coverage in all categories of the OWASP Top Ten

· Comprehensive network security risk analysis, combining web application coverage with network, operating system and infrastructure exposure intelligence

· Utilization of PureCloud's easy to use risk and remediation reports

nCircle PureCloud provides customers with a comprehensive vulnerability management solution that requires no hardware or software to be installed and managed. nCircle PureCloud dramatically reduces the cost and complexity of vulnerability scanning – a widely recognized security best practice among large corporations – making the practice easily accessible to small and medium business.

Web application security scanning is available now to all PureCloud subscribers at no additional charge. For more information about web application scanning in PureCloud, please visit https://purecloud.ncircle.com/solutions/en/WebApp or call (415) 625-5930.
