Slide Show: Signs That Malware Could Be On Your Mobile Device
Even healthy mobile phones can exhibit dodgy behavior, but there are some telltale signs that malicious software could be on board
For half a decade, security firms predicted the rise of mobile malware. It took until 2011, however, for mobile malware to take off. This year, the number of malicious programs aimed at mobile phones is expected to more than quadruple, according to mobile security firm Lookout. Yet, numbers are still low -- there will likely be less than 1,000 different malicious variants targeted at mobile devices this year, compared to tens of millions targeting personal computers.
