Research indicates 80% of CISOs worry their companies aren't reacting to flagged data breaches.
Despite the resources allocated to identifying data breaches, 81% of CISOs are "highly concerned" flagged breaches are not being addressed. Seventy percent of businesses claim it's difficult to prioritize alerts based on the importance of data under attack.
Researchers from ServiceNow collected these stats in a global survey of 300 CISOs to learn about the state of security response in large organizations. Nearly 30% of CISOs say manual processes impede effective security, and 91% state attracting and developing talent is "crucial."
Less than 20% of respondents rate their business as "highly effective" in preventing security breaches. Their practices ultimately put customers at risk: only 38% of CISOs think they are highly effective in protecting against breaches of customers' credit card and financial data.
